Moving Out & Moving On with a Coach

I often hear the question from professionals considering coaching,

"What would we talk about?"

The best way I can describe it is from the lens of my own experience. Before becoming a coach, I was of the mindset, "I've got this" or "I don't need help" or "I can figure this out on my own." Yes, and...all of that is true. I am a naturally creative and resourceful human being. I am well-educated. I have had some great experiences to draw from. However, sometimes I feel like it's too much for me to sort through. I have too many options, I have too many experiences to navigate through. Maybe there are some emotions attached to whatever I am dealing with. There are too many stakeholders to consider, etc.

This keeps me in my head. And sometimes, when we are in our head, we can go down some rabbit holes (I call this the, "What about this and what about that?")

We tend to over-complicate things. It can take longer to get to our answer and we may go into it with some doubt.

A coach can guide you through that. By asking powerful questions, a coach can help you get clear on what does need to be addressed and help you draw out some options. And by doing so, you learn how to think. You learn how to navigate emotions that are part of those decisions. You learn how to decide and move on.

What are you in your head about? Are you ready to move out and move on?
