Who is Responsible? How Do Decisions Get Made? When and How Do We Escalate Things?

Updated: Jan 2

As a consultant, I've worked with teams of all sizes and have seen firsthand how establishing governance can make a significant difference in a group's success.

At its core, governance is about establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes. It's about creating a framework that helps ensure everyone is aligned and working toward the same goals.

When governance is in place, it can help streamline communication and decision-making, minimize conflicts, and ensure that everyone is on the same page, knows what's expected of them and who to turn to for guidance or support.

But beyond that, governance can also help with accountability and transparency. By establishing clear processes and guidelines, it's easier to track progress, identify issues, and hold team members accountable for their work.

Of course, governance isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. Every team and organization will have its unique needs and challenges. But the key is to establish governance that's tailored to your specific context and goals.

At the end of the day, it's about everyone working together effectively and efficiently.
